MY STORY

My story is quite simple. Like many, I’ve had both a beautiful and a tough life. From as early as age 5, I experienced a sense of disconnection with the world, a desire not to be here that involved retreating into the safety and creativity of my imagination. Although growing up in New Zealand as the youngest of five children was in many ways easy, a 'darkness’ prevailed within the family resulting in my sister committing suicide, and then many years later, me being diagnosed with relatively rare ‘triple negative' breast cancer. A fast growing form of breast cancer with no known physiological reason for its appearance, and no specific treatment. They were able to however pinpoint when it began to grow to which my oncologist asked, "What was going on with you that month Suzi?

In a nutshell, it was extreme self doubt and in all honesty, part of me was quietly relieved that finally I might be leaving this planet. However there was clearly another plan, so after 10 months of chemo, radio and surgery, here I am all these years later. In many ways it was a gift and a turning point. I ramped up my beloved Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teaching and proactively dived into exploring those big questions – who am I and why am I here? So far, it’s been quite a journey and thanks to my darling husband Leigh (who tbh isn’t into any of this :), I’ve been supported, loved and blessed with the freedom to expand.

The mission now, is to grow THE LIGHT DUMP and bring to light the incredible people I've met (and are yet to meet) within communities around the world who are quietly getting on with doing their bit to raise our consciousness through their unique skills, wisdom and practices.
